FUNDRASING
We wrote Grant asks of over 3 million dollars, resulting in about $50,000 in awards. The LBUSD contributed about $40,000 in one-time funds after we showed the need for a play structure (Carver was the last school in the Distrct without a playground) and further, showing a need for the equiptment to be accessible, as (at the time) 10% of Carver population were students with disabilities. LBUSD Superintendent Chris Steinhauser was a big supporter of the project, making dealing with red tape so much eaiser.

We held 2 annual Casino Nights (approx $40,000), sold and installed engraved bricks ($16,000). We also did a "Mixed Bag" fundraiser. McCarthy Construction donated over $20,000 in site prep work. We saved about $20,000 in construction costs by holding a community build, where 150+ parents, students, CBOs and local residents came together over two days to assemble the structure. Robinson Cement donated 2 full trucks of cement for once the structure was assembled.
