BCMC 7th Annual
Toy Drive & Delivery
For our 7th Annual effort, BCMC invited Sunset Ford and it's employees to help reach a joint goal of 300 toys.

We had a good start with almost 200 toys collected at our November Mustangs at the Queen Mary 6 car show.

But we never expected to reach 1,041 toys...

Over the past few years, we've peaked at about 150 toys, all going to the UCLA-Harbor General Hospital in Carson. But with all the extra toys we went a little further this time...

Kha Tran, a Sunset Ford Salesman, played Santa to several kids in the Long Beach projects, where he grew up. He also sent a few cases of Mattel toys to Vietnam. Another salesman, Jairo "JD" Londono, took several cases of toys to his hometown in Columbia. The night receptionist Gladys helped us adopt 6 families through her church...

We still had over 700 toys to distribute. The first of two cargo vans followed my sales manager Clint Hall, his fiance Vicki and daughter Christine, who joined Gladys, myself, and fellow salesman Jamie Rosales in a visit to the Emergency Room at Orange County Children's Hospital. BCMC Members on hand included Brian, Jeff & Claire Sanford; Shane Darlington, James Franklin & Family, and Dusty & Kathy Pinkerton.
We filled 2 gurneys full of toys and pushed them through the 54 bed facility. Everyone got at least 3 toys, and we had about 100 left for the hospital to hand out over the next few months...

Thanks to Sunset Ford's management, employees and customers for their toys and their time!

But the day was
far from over.....

...beacuse the next stop was our regular Xmas day stop at UCLA Harbor General Hospital in Carson.. In attendance from BCMC were Bill "Red" Ivey, Pete Schram, Orie Zamora, Sharon Delatorre, Jose Bolanos and myself, Jon Schultz.

A reporter and photographer from the Daily Breeze were there to meet us.

We'll let them take the story from here...
