The week before the show, I learned of this tragedy from a story at LBpost.com. As a new father, I was heartbroken. As a club based in Long Beach, and with this Long Beach event that we could use to make a difference, we just had to do something.
We began the day by telling Kaylee's story, and asking our participants and vendors to contribute, even if it was just a couple bucks. We would show that our hobby is not only fun, but has a heart, too. Our people indeed showed some heart...

Several show participants have emailed us asking how they can contribute, so we have set up the link below. We will collect funds through January 1st. Please consider making a contribution of any amount - even if it is just $5. Every dollar will help....

This year's show was dedicated to little Kaylee Alvarez, a 1-year-old Long Beach toddler killed by a drunk driver on September 11, 2009
